How to start Disk Management?

Right click on Computer or My PC or from Start Menu, and choose Manage option from there. From the next right side menu, select Disk Management. In Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, press Windows Key+X and from the menu, select Disk Management.

How to Format Disk in a PC?

I’m sure you know how to open My computer’s page on your Windows PC. By clicking it, you would see a page with your Hard drive partitions with a particular letters i.e. Drive (C), Drive (E). In order to format any of your Hard Disk partition, you just need to right click on it and select Format option. You would be warned by system once, click the Ok button when something’s appear on the screen. In a couple of seconds, your drive will be formatted and no data will be there!

How to Rename Existing Partition or Drive?

Sometimes, you just don’t want to see your Drive names as just Drive(E) and all, instead you can rename it according to your need. Yes, it’s possible and you can easily change the drives’ name. To do so, go ahead and open My Computer, you would see all the Disk Partitions there. Right click on the Diskpart that you want to be renamed, select Properties from the menu. You would see a menu from where you need to select General option.

Now, you need to go to the box where your drive name is appears, simply go there and rename the name. Click the Ok button when done! The drive name has been changed and you would see this recently changed name there whenever you open My Computer on your PC.

How to Change Drive Letters in Windows?

If you don’t like the letter on a particular drive, you can simply change it according to your need. If your Drive name is Drive(E), you can change it to Drive(X) or whatever you want to change.

Right click on the Disk/Partition option and select Change Drive Letter and Paths…. option. You would be presented all the Partitions available in your hard drive, click on the drive you want to change. Select an appropriate Drive Letter and click the Ok button. You’re done!

How to delete a Partition in Windows?

Sometimes, you don’t want to see various partitions available on your system. Sometimes, it looks uncomfortable as well. Well, you can easily delete a Diskpart from the Windows.

Open Disk Management and right click on the Partition that you want to delete. Make sure to select Delete Volume option. You would be warned once, make sure to select Ok when asked. The whole selected Volume will be deleted and you won’t see it on your My Computer’s page.
