As we know that nothing is perfect and everything lacks something, proving to be an error or problem for present or for the coming near future. There are also problems in Windows operating system poses difficulty to the user, but they can be solved through getting the solution and acknowledging the reason for the problem.



Many people often face that their USB ports doesn’t works properly and not responds to the system. If you are experiencing the problem in your Windows 7 and 8, then here is the guide for solving it.

Solving USB Port Not Working / Responding Problem in Windows 7, 8 and 8.1:

Method 1:

You can download the updated and new driver for your system from the internet, after downloading it you can install. It will update your driver to the latest version and update present. You can also uninstall the driver and reinstall it for fixing the problem.

For Windows 7 users, open the Start menu and type the devmgmt.msc and hit on enter. Device manager will open and locate the port, after locating it right-click on it and select the uninstall option. After doing so restart the system.



For Windows 8 users, hold the Windows key along with the ‘x’ key for opening the device manager. Now do the same as stated above.



 



Method 2:



If you are facing error and problem with all the USB ports in your system, then you can fix it through uninstalling the Universal Serial Bus Controller. Open the device manager as given in the Method 1 then go to the each entry present under the Universal Serial Bus Controller. Right-click on each entry and select the Uninstall option.

Restart the computer after doing the change; you have to reinstall it for making it functional again.
